Samantha Flinn – Principal Exercise Physiologist

Sam completed her Bachelors degree in Sport & Exercise Science (2011) and a Honours degree in Health Science (2012). Since then, she has gained experience working in cardiac, pulmonary and renal rehabilitation, musculoskeletal injuries, metabolic conditions and neuromuscular disorders. She also works at the NSW Institute of Sport since 2012 and as an academic tutor for Western Sydney University.

 

Her most recent accomplishment was the publication of her journal article titled ‘The differential effect of metabolic alkalosis and hypoxia on high intensity cycling performance’ in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research in 2014.

 

Outside of work, Sam has a budding toddler and 9 month old twin babies to keep her busy and she loves to go for walks with her family.

Christine Su – Exercise Physiologist (NSW)

Christine completed her Bachelor’s degree in 2016 and joined the team at Allied Health Solutions soon after. She specialises in chronic disease, aged care and diabetes management. In her spare time, Christine is a keen basketballer.

Susanna Cheng – Exercise Physiologist (NSW)

Susanna Cheng is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) passionate about motivating her clients to move and empowering them to make positive lifestyle changes for their health and management of their chronic conditions.

 

Susanna has had experience consulting with a variety of clients ranging from Mental Health conditions, MS, to Chronic Low Back Pain, Osteoporosis and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, just to name a few. Graduating from the University of New South Wales, and having volunteered for a number of not-for-profit organisations, Susanna joined the team in 2016. She has gained experience working with clients from different cultures and backgrounds, and as a result, is able to adapt and tailor individuals’ programs according to their goals and capabilities.

 

Susanna believes in helping her clients improve in moving efficiently and functionally, to promote exercise as their medicine. She is also bilingual in Mandarin.

 

Outside of work, Susanna loves to hike and explore new places.

Blake Olivo – Exercise Physiologist (NSW)

Blake completed his Bachelor of Applied Science (Exercise Physiology) in 2016 at the University of Sydney and is currently studying his Masters of Physiotherapy.

 

 Blake has a great interest in how the body functions and the numerous ways that exercise can help improve various conditions. Blake has had a vast array of experience working with clinical and healthy populations, and working within private practice, outpatient rehabilitation and corporate health settings. He is very passionate about educating others on how exercise and physical activity is a habit that is enjoyable and one that should be kept for life.

Clare Freakley – Exercise Physiologist (NSW)

Clare completed her degree with Sydney University in 2016 and joined the team in 2018.

 

She currently specialises in chronic disease, workcover/CTP, DVA, and group services.

 

Outside of work, she is involved in surf life saving, netball and waterpolo.

Jennifer Bennett – Exercise Physiologist  (NSW)

Jennifer completed her bachelor degree in exercise physiology at the University of Sydney in 2017 and joined Allied Health solutions in 2018. She has previous experience with healthy and clinical populations and has a keen interest in rehabilitation and chronic disease management.

 

Outside of work she enjoys playing sport with friends, especially soccer and Futsal.

Kristyn Stuckey – Exercise Physiologist (VIC)

Kristyn completed her Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology at the Queensland University of Technology in 2017, and has since relocated to Melbourne. Her passion for exercise physiology stems from the extraordinary potential of the human body and using exercise as medicine to optimise function and quality of life for people managing various chronic health conditions. Kristyn acknowledges that exercise is not a one-size-fits-all, she enjoys supporting and motivating people to move more and make healthy changes to maintain for life. Her special interests are Diabetes, PCOS, Cancer and Mental Health.

 

In her spare time, Kristyn enjoys outdoor adventures, cooking and spending time with friends and family.

Caitlin Dodd – Exercise Physiologist (VIC)

Caitlin completed a Bachelor of Biomedical Science at Charles Darwin University in 2009 followed by a Master of Clinical Exercise Practice at Victoria University in 2011. Caitlin has worked in various settings including corporate health, hospitals and most recently private practice.

 

Caitlin believes that exercise can have a positive in anyone’s life and loves seeing people achieve things with exercise that they never thought possible. Caitlin enjoys working with clients who are new to exercise and may not yet have experienced all the heath and wellness benefits it provides.

 

On the weekend you’ll catch her grabbing a coffee at the local cafes, sampling the wide variety of cuisines of Melbourne, and more than likely heading to an AFL game or two.

Tom Joseph – Exercise Physiologist (QLD)

Tom is an Accredited Clinical Exercise Physiologist. He comes from a sporting background of cricket and touch football as well as non competitive wake-boarding and snowboarding. Tom aspires to help his patients to achieve good health in all aspects of their life. With a combination of education, goal setting and time management strategies, Tom believes in working together as a team to motivate you to achieve your desired health goals. Tom is always happy to have a friendly chat with any health concerns you may have or how the Australian cricket team is performing.

Kara Wessling (SA)

Kara joined the team in 2018 after graduating from Charles Sturt University.

 

She currently specialises in Chronic disease, Mental health, and return to work/workcover.

Vivian Tsang – Dietitian (VIC)

Vivian is an Accredited Practising Dietitian and Accredited Nutritionist who graduated from a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics at Monash University. Since graduating, Vivian has completed her Sports Nutrition Course at the Australian Institute of Sport as well as worked as the VFL dietitian at the Essendon Football Club (2015) and Coburg Football Club (current) along with other sports such as Squash and Soccer.

 

Vivian is passionate about promoting good health and wellbeing by balancing a nutritional, psychological and educational approach. Her goal is to support individuals in achieving their goals and promote long term healthy lifestyles. She believes that nutrition and building a heathy relationship with food, along with exercise are vital to maintaining good health.

 

Sports nutrition, weight management, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, gastrointestinal health and aged care nutrition are areas which she specialises in.

 

Outside of work, Vivian likes to stay active and has competed as a Senior Competitor in various levels of Calisthenics including Championship Reserve for 12 years. She also loves to spend time with family and friends as well as try out new recipes in her spare time.

Kara Cohen – Dietitian (VIC)

Kara Cohen is an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) and a provisional Sports Dietitian with a Bachelor of Science, Honours Degree in Physiology, Graduate Certificate of Human Nutrition and Masters of Dietetic Practice.

 

Kara is passionate about empowering individuals to improve their health and performance through managed plans customised to the individual’s needs. She believes a positive relationship with food accompanied with exercise is vital for long term health.

 

Kara has a keen interest in weight management, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, gastrointestinal health, vegan/vegetarian diets and sports nutrition. In 2017, Kara volunteered with Coburg Football club as an assistant dietitian.

 

In her spare time, Kara likes to stay active and has previously competed in bodybuilding competitions. She is also a keen water- and snow-skier. She loves to spend time with family, friends and her dog as well as experimenting in the kitchen and planning her next overseas venture.

Hilda Lee – Dietitian

Hilda is an Accredited Practising Dietitian with a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics with Honours. She has experience consulting in medical clinics across Melbourne, and combines scientific evidence and her practical experience to make good nutrition a feasible and sustainable lifestyle for her patients. She takes into consideration all factors impacting nutrition and health (including  genetics, hormones, financial situation, social  and cultural background etc), to provide individualized advice for all her patients.

 

Hilda sees patients with all types of nutrition-related issues; however her special interests are in the areas of weight management, diabetes and irritable bowel syndrome.

 

Outside of work she enjoys exploring local cafes, reading and spending time with family and friends.

Amy Primmer – Dietitian (VIC)

Amy Primmer graduated from La Trobe University Bundoora with a Bachelor of Health Science and a Master of Dietetic Practice.

 

Amy enjoys working with clients to create an individualised plan to help improve their health and wellbeing through food. She prefers a non-diet approach where she can work together with patients to make sustainable improvements to suit an individuals’ lifestyle.
